Coach Chavi is 'preparing' to return to Barcelona

He has said it several times before. Chavez Hernandez reiterated his desire to return to Barcelona as a coach. The wait is just the right time. The former Spanish footballer, who played for the Catalan club for 16 years, said that preparations are underway for this.

Barcelona hired Kike Setien as their new coach following the dismissal of Ernesto Valverde in January. The club, however, first offered the key. The team chose the second choice because he did not agree.

Chavez has long wanted to coach Barcelona. However, the Spanish World Cup-winning midfielder turned down the offer as he did not feel ready at the time. He also said that he wants to be the coach of the Catalan club in the future.

The 40-year-old is currently coaching Qatar's Al-Saade. Chavez said in a video conference published on Sunday in the Spanish daily Sport that he is developing himself as a worthy coach of Barcelona.

"My biggest hope now is to be the coach of Barcelona and get Barcelona back on track to win and that's why my technical staff is preparing so hard that we are thrilled."

The star, who has played the most matches (655) for the Catalan team, wants to start from scratch with responsibility.

“I want to return at the right time with the goal of starting from scratch. I have said this many times. I want to make decisions about football in Barcelona. ”
