Everton stopped Liverpool

Liverpool stumbled on the doorstep of the dream. Jurgen Klopp's side have lost points in their first match of the newly started English Premier League at Everton.

The Mercedes derby on Sunday at Godison Park ended in a goalless draw. This is the second draw of Liverpool, which is running in a great rhythm in the event.

The team known as 'All Red' has 28 points from 28 wins and two draws in 30 matches. Manchester City has 60 points. However, they have played less than one match.

Even then, the club's followers are not far from the title. Liverpool will be able to take home the title in their next match if Pep Guardiola's side loses City points against Burnley at home on Monday.

The team, which has been waiting for the league title for three decades, will play against Crystal Palace at home to Anfield.

Despite being in control of the ball throughout the match, Everton's solid defense was broken and only Firmino could keep only three shots on goal.

In the tenth minute, Takumi missed a shot from outside Minamino's D-box. In the 30th minute, Joel Matip's head could not find the address in the corner of Trent-Alexander Arnold. Two minutes later, Everton did not move forward when the head of Everton's Richardson missed the target.

Virgil von Dyke's header from Arnold's cross early in the second half also failed to bring Liverpool the desired goal. When Fabiano's effort failed in the added time, the club's team left the field by sharing the points in the end.

In the other match of the day, Chelsea won 2-1 by turning around after falling behind in Aston Villa's Villa Park. French forward Olivier Giroud scored the winning goal after Christian Pulisic equalized in the first half.

Chelsea is in fourth place with 15 wins from 30 matches and 51 points from 6 draws. Leicester City has three more points than them.

Aston Villa is at number 19 with 26 points in an equal match.
