Coronavirus: 6 more Pakistani cricketers infected

After Shadab
Khan, Haris Rauf and Haider Ali, seven more Pakistani cricketers have tested
positive for the coronavirus.
The new
victims are Fakhar Zaman, Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad
Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan, and Wahab Riaz.
The Pakistan
Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement on Tuesday evening that one of the
support staff (Messiah Malang Ali) had been attacked.
In all, more
than a third of the 29-man squad announced for the three-match Test and
Twenty20 tour of England tested positive for coronavirus. Like the previous
three, no symptoms were seen in the bodies of the newly infected. Everyone will
be at home for 14 days in self-isolation.
Apart from
bowling coach Waqar Younis, all-rounder Shoaib Malik and physiotherapist Cliff
Deacon, 35 players, and coaching staff were tested on Monday in Lahore,
Karachi, and Peshawar. Of these, the results of eight people were positive and
the rest were negative.
Those whose
results are negative will go to Lahore on Wednesday. The next day they will be
tested for another round of Covid-19. Those whose results are negative will fly
to Manchester on a special flight next Sunday.
Upon arrival
in England, they will be tested again and will have to stay in quarantine for
14 days. However, at this time, the players will have the opportunity to
practice in a 'sterile environment'.
And those
who are positive, after being in quarantine for a certain period of time, they
will be tested twice for Covid-19. They will only be able to go on a tour of
England if the result is negative.
Former
Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi recently reported being infected with the
coronavirus. Earlier, Tawfiq Umar was attacked. The former left-arm batsman
later recovered.
Former
cricketer Zafar Sarfaraz died of COVID-19 disease in April.
